What’s the difference? This is a common question we get. When comparing them at face value, both pins do the exact same thing. They magnetically secure your pin and help add more weight to your cable stacks. Or they can simply be used as an adder weight. The major difference lies in the magnetic hold or “pull” that the respective pin has. Here’ s a quick breakdown:
-
Stacked Weight Pin – this is our original and most popular item. It comes with a standard 21lbs of pull with the combined 6 magnets. This is also used in our Micro Stacks, Short Stacks, and Stubby Stacks. This variant works well with most stacks and 21lbs is found to be just right for most customers.
- Super Stack Weight Pin – this pin was born out of a need to address certain machines that had gaps between each selector plate or had a rougher face to them. Our Super Stack Pins come with 49lbs of pull combined with the 6 magnets. This is more than double our original pin. When gaps are present in selectorized machines, it produces less magnet pull in the pin. With the Super Stack Weight Pin, it allows a stronger pull and firmer grip on the plates, allowing you to comfortably and confidently lift the weight. This pin is ideal for customers who have older machines, spaced plates within their selectorized machine, or just looking for more magnet pull.
